04/02/2016 STandART : 14 years, 14 singles. New single out now!

STandART 2016

To celebrate the band’s 14th anniversary, we gladly present you our single No.14 – “Under The Cat-Fur-Coloured Sky” (Zem Kaķa Spalvas Krāsas Debesīm – in Latvian). Our friends Signe Ābola and Edgars Liljē have helped us record it. Originally, the song was composed and still is performed by the band Ēnu kaleidoskops, in which all four of us – Mārtiņš, Kalvis, Signe, Edgars – have played or still play. A few versions of our previous single “Fever” (Drudzis) are also included, among them a remix by Antti Sappinen from the Finnish bands …and the Ocean and Valtawirta.

The single is available on our Bandcamp site for free or you can leave a donation and help us finish the new album sooner. Enjoy and share!

You can also support “Under The Cat-Fur-Coloured Sky” (Zem Kaķa Spalvas Krāsas Debesīm) on Radio NABA Top10 LV HERE.

31/12/2015 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As the year ends, a brief studio update. We’ve finished (mixed) 9-10 tracks from 15. Those include a re-recorded version of ‘Sleep Less Horses’ (Bez Miega Zirgi) and a couple of tracks we played live already in 2013 – ‘Poison’ and ‘Under The Cat-Fur-Coloured Sky’. The remaining 5-6 tracks have the main stuff recorded as well. A new single will be out in January. If you don’t want to miss any news, subscribe to STandART Newsletter (enter your e-mail address in the window on the right side of the page).

Meanwhile, ‘Drudzis’ (Fever) ranked at No.15 at Radio NABA Top100 of 2015.

30/09/2015 NEW SINGLE OUT NOW – “FEVER”!

The empire strikes back! Since April 2013, we have been recording our album No.3 as Mārtiņš & Kalvis (+ friends). Finally, the time has come to reveal the first results – the first STandART single in 5 years.

The main song is available in both English (Fever) and Latvian (Drudzis). It’s written by Mārtiņš & Kalvis and inspired by the Norwegian author Knut Hamsun’s novel “Mysteries” (1892).

We have made it available on Bandcamp for free. Enjoy and spread the word! You can also leave a donation and help us finish the new album sooner.

Recorded by Sandris Savickis (Starring Two) in Jūrmala.
Mixed and mastered by Kaspars Tobis (7 Synths, Dzelzs Vilks) in Sigulda.
Produced by Kalvis Kluburs. Additional musicians – Juris Tipa & Edgars Liljē.
The Empire Strikes Back (JRSTPA RMX) remixed by Juris Tipa in Mexico City. Contains a sample from “Aum” by John Sobocan. Original version (“June”) available on the album “Autumn News”.

You can also listen to the songs on YouTube, as well as to this small teaser we published this summer:

There are no live performances planned at the moment. Trying our best to finish the album in near future.

20/10/2014 Juris Tipa in Latvia – radio & on stage

Juris Tipa, whom you might know as our former guitarist (which is not entirely correct, as Juris is taking part in the recording of the new STandART album), has come from Mexico to Latvia for a few weeks and will be the guest at Radio NABA’s broadcast ‘RE Kovers’ on Wednesday, October 22, (around 18:30) with some recordings done by Mexican bands.

An exclusive concert by the band ‘Pasaules gaisma’ will take place at ‘Nabaklab’ on November 2. The band will perform as Imants Daksis + Juris Tipa + Edgars Liljē, who is also involved with STandART. Previously, Mārtiņš and Kalvis have been members of ‘Pasaules gaisma’ as well.

27/08/2013 Mėnuo Juodaragis XVI

Thanks to everyone who was a part of Mėnuo Juodaragis XVI – the organizers, all the different kinds of artists and the audience. It was a fantastic festival, and we had a wonderful time. Ačiu!

We played 4 completely new songs. For the first time, our lineup featured Edgars Liljē on live drums. Edgars plays or has played in such bands as Marta Migla, Ēnu kaleidoskops, Pasaules Gaisma, Sniegavīru Rūpnīca. It was also the first STandART concert with live drums since 2003.
