PASAULES GAISMA (2001-2006, 2014)

One of the most popular Latvian indie bands ‘Pasaules Gaisma’ (The Light of the World) was formed in 2001 by Imants Daksis (vocals, guitar), Juris Tipa (bass) and Mārtiņš Links (drums). The band released two albums in 2003 and 2004. In 2005,  a reworked track ‘Pasaules Gaisma 2005’ was released on the compilation ‘Alternative LV – Vol.1′.  The band practically ceased to exist with Imants Daksis’ wish to focus on his solo recordings. Some of the band’s songs can still be heard live at his concerts.

‘Pasaules Gaisma’ have played several concerts together with ‘STandART’. 3 people (Kalvis Kluburs, Mārtiņš Links, Juris Tipa, Edgars Liljē) have been members of both bands (not simultaneously) and 2 more ‘Pasaules Gaisma’ members have been involved in STandART concerts and recordings.
