We’ve started working on our 3rd album, at this point, together with Sandris from ‘Starring Two’. There are close to 20 demos to work on/choose from, and the first comments from others include ‘ambient’, ‘folk-rock’ and ‘doom metal’:) Can’t promise anything too soon, but at least it’s in the making.

‘Hospital’, a song by STandART sideproject ‘Starring Two’, ranked at No.5 in the annual Radio NABA Top100. It’s the best result by a Latvian artist and it was also named ‘the biggest surprise’ of the chart.

4) We usually don’t post anything non-music related, but we thought it would be a good thing to share with you the following. The idea behind this is similar to what caused us create our track ‘Hydrology’. In fact, it’s a Latvian petition for the Latvian government to keep the Baltic Sea clean. Finally, ‘Starring Two’ album ‘Portraits and Landscapes’ has been released and is available for free/donations on the band’s official website and the Bandcamp site.

The album has been produced at ‘Starring Two’ home studio in Jūrmala, Latvia, by Sandris Savickis. It features a number of historic instruments – ‘Moog Prodigy’, ‘E-MU EMAX2’, ‘Korg MonoPoly’, ‘Ensoniq FIZMO’, ‘Eventide H3000 D/SE’, as well as some modern classics – ‘Nord Lead 1/2/3’, ‘Nord Modular’, ‘Waldorf Q’, ‘Future Retro XS’, ‘Access Virus’, ‘Schippmann Ebbe und Flut’ etc. One of the sounds belongs to an analog modular synthesizer, which is yet being developed in Latvia.

A new single from the long-awaited STandART side-project ‘Starring Two’ album ‘Portaits & Landscapes’ has been published. The single is called ‘Hospital’ and it is available as a free download or for donations at the official ‘Starring Two’ webpage as well at the band’s new Bandcamp site. In the same way the album ‘Portaits & Landscapes’ will be released on June 18.

15/05/2012 STandART returns to Finland
STandART will be among the participants of the Electronic Pop Night at Lavaklubi, Helsinki on November 17. Other participants are “and the Ocean” (FI) and “Single Sound” (FI).
31/03/2012 Another Anniversary Event
One more event to celebrate STandART’s 10th anniversary has been confirmed – May 5, Fontaine Palace, Liepāja. The same lineup – Marta Migla as guests, DJs Gac & Momentz. A special bus from Riga to the event available.
17/03/2012 STandART to play in the exhibition hall Arsenāls
On March 18, STandART will perform at the closing event of the exhibiton “Pacieties” (Be patient) by Sarmīte Māliņa and Kristaps Kalns. The location is the biggest art exhibition hall in Riga – The Arsenāls Exhibition Hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art.
Kristaps Kalns and Sarmīte Māliņa have worked with STandART for many years at various photo and video sessions.
