PASAULES GAISMA (2001-2006)

One of the most popular Latvian indie bands “Pasaules Gaisma” (“The Light of the World”) formed back in 2001 by Imants Daksis (vocals, guitar), Juris Tipa (bass) and Mārtiņš Links (drums). The band has self-released two albums in 2003 and 2004.  In 2005, the reworked version “Pasaules Gaisma 2005″ was released on the compilation “Alternative LV – Vol.1″.  The band practically ceased to exist with Imants Daksis wish to focus on his solo recordings.  The other members of the band started taking part in other music projects. Some of “Pasaules Gaisma” songs can still be heard live on solo performances of Imants Daksis.

There is a strong connection between “Pasaules Gaisma” and STandART. Both bands have played a few concerts together and 3 people (Kalvis Kluburs, Mārtiņš Links, Juris Tipa) have been members of both bands (not at the same time, though).
